Ultimate Frisbee Club (Halcyon)

Ultimate frisbee is a non-contact, fast and physical sport that combines elements of American football, basketball and football. Halcyon was established in 2007 and since then has become a top performing team in the Northern region. We compete in both the indoor and outdoor categories. Games outdoors are played 7 a side and indoors are played 5 a side. There are several tournaments that cater for different levels of ability, including beginners and hat tournaments for casual players, to representing the University team in regionals (North-West) and nationals. We host socials throughout the week that aim to include everyone by having both alcoholic and non-alcoholic events. Ultimate is not just a sport, it’s a lifestyle.

Club Philosophy

Our club revolves around Spirit of the Game, the heart and core of Ultimate. It aims to uphold integrity and fairness in the game and ensures that players respect both their teammates and opponents. High competitiveness is always encouraged but players are to be kind and honest, whether that is on or off the pitch. Ultimate is a diverse and inclusive sport, so we want to reflect this by welcoming anyone to join, even if it is just for the social side, we want everyone to have an enjoyable time. We drive our players to train and commit 100% in every aspect of Ultimate. Every players should always strive to be better, even if we are happy with our current performance.
