About
The Manchester Metros are a mixed gender Ice Hockey club for university students and staff within Greater Manchester and the North West. The club takes players from absolute beginners all the way through to junior internationals and semi professionals.
We have teams that play in the British Universities Ice Hockey Association at Checking Division 2 North, Non Checking Division 1 North, and developmental challenge games. At the end of each season, all 3 teams play in the annual BUIHA Nationals tournament in Sheffield where teams from all over the country come to play against each other for the full weekend. The Metros also play in a “War of the Roses” style Varsity game against the University of Leeds Gryphons which attracts 500+ paying fans each year!
