Sporticipate O2 Touch Rugby

Sporticipate O2 Touch Rugby welcomes men and women of all abilities to the sessions. It is not restricted to where you live or what year you are studying in and the best bit it is FREE and open to all students and staff at The University of Manchester.

Once you sign up, you can also try out other sports for free, with over 60 hours of free sport available each week!

Where and When?

O2 Touch Rugby sessions commence weekly on Thursdays 18:00-20:00 at the Armitage Sports Centre. The session gives participants the opportunity to learn rugby at a basic level, mainly focusing on passing and running.

The qualified coach will provide the equipment and will run drills and matches, so all you need to do is come along even if you have never played before. Just wear suitable clothing and have a bottle of water at hand. We hope to see you there!

Refereeing and Coaching Courses

We can now offer refereeing courses that are specifically for students, which will allow financial rewards such as paid opportunities and kit vouchers, as well as future growth and progression within rugby. Make sure to keep an eye out for the exact dates and email Lucy.Simper@manchester.ac.uk if you have any questions or require more information

There are multiple opportunities to develop your own coaching. This can be done through assisting in community clubs and then progressing into paid coaching. All of the time you put in can go towards your YRA hours, where you can receive exclusive YRA kit.

Exact dates for coaching courses will be made available soon, so make sure to keep checking this page and email Lucy.Simper@manchester.ac.uk with any questions.
