About the Club

Whether you have been playing for years or are looking for something new to try, UoM Men’s Lacrosse Club caters for players of all abilities. We currently have 2 teams: our 1sts play in the premiership league, at the highest level of BUCS lacrosse and our 2nd team competes in a northern league for the development of new players.

We recently celebrated our 10-year anniversary and the club has been going from strength to strength. As a university focus sport, our players have access to specialised strength and conditioning sessions that are tailored to improving their game.

The club has a longstanding partnership with local community lacrosse club, Timperley. This link gives players an opportunity to play club lacrosse at the weekend and also provides high quality coaching for the university.

Club Philosophy

Lacrosse is a fun, heavily team-orientated sport and we pride ourselves on the friendly environment that we have across both teams. We want each of our members to reach their potential as a lacrosse player and as coaches and players we all work together to achieve this. Players who have started lacrosse at UoM have gone on to represent their countries and play in international tournaments.

As well as feeding in our own players, our 1st team often receives members from clubs and American universities and we work hard to emulate the professional atmosphere that they are used to playing in. Our 2nd team welcomes new players and we emphasise using the skills that our returning players have to develop our newest recruits, creating an involved and inclusive feel for all our members.

About the Club

Our club is both competitive and social, catering for all abilities from girls who have played all through school and want to continue at a competitive level to those who want to pick it up as a beginner at university. The teams train twice a week with extra sessions dedicated to fitness and strength and conditioning along with BUCS matches on Wednesday's. Our affiliation with Timperley Lacrosse Club is the only one of its kind in the country which gives our players more opportunities to play competitive lacrosse at a club level and provide us with high level coaching.

Club Philosophy

Our club allows players to pursue a passion for the sport while competing and expanding the reach of the sport. We are competitive but know how to balance this well with the social side of the sport, together with the Men's club. Lacrosse is one of three University of Manchester Focus Sports through which we aim to build a reputation for excellence at every level, and benefit from investment through the spectrum from beginners to our team players and sports scholars.
