About the Club

At Jitsu they welcome all abilities, builds, backgrounds and ages. They are a Jitsu Foundation club and follow Shorinji Kan style of Jiu Jitsu. Many of their members have previous experience of martial arts, across a broad range of grappling and striking styles.

They also welcome many new starters to martial arts and Jitsu every year. See the websites for more information on starting out and your first session. Your first session is always free, and you have 2 weeks of training before you need to register and buy insurance. No invite or notice needed; turn up and train!

Club Philosophy

We are a martial art focused on teaching practical self-defence from day one. Defence is taught through primarily throwing, grappling and striking.

We foster an attitude of respect and friendship on the mat; there is no hazing or battering of newbies with the Jiu Jitsu Club. The onus is on the development of the student as a martial artist and advancement through the belts, with four gradings a year.

We attend 2 national level competitions a year, and strive to offer these as cheaply as possible for all students. Improve beyond the person you were a minute before and get fighting fit!
