Christie Championship

The Christie Championship is a tri-university competition between the Universities of Manchester, Leeds and Liverpool. These three universities compete in a multitude of sports and take turns hosting.

About

The Christie Championship is one of the UK’s biggest university varsity competitions and is rich in history. The sporting tournament will see more than 1,600 students from the Universities of Leeds, Manchester and Liverpool battle it out across 35 sports for the historic Christie Cup itself, not to mention the bragging rights. Manchester has dominated the Christie cup in recent history, winning four out of the last five years and most recently in 2017.

The Christie Cup is the culmination of a year’s hard work on the training ground; you can often throw form out of the window as every sports team ups their game for the biggest day of the year.

2018 Will see Manchester travel to hosts Liverpool, who will be looking to defend their home turf and win the Christie Cup for the first time in 26 years!

The Christie Cup has had a long standing sponsorship agreement with Aldi whose support is valued and is key to the delivery of a successful event.
