British Universities & College Sport

BUCS run leagues & competitions for over 50 sports, including everything from archery to ultimate Frisbee to almost 170 Universities comprising a busy league programme of over 5800 teams and over 120 championship events every year.

About

BUCS leagues & competitions take place at some of the most breath-taking sporting venues in the UK, from Twickenham, the home of rugby, The National Institute of Sport in Sheffield to the Manchester velodrome used in the 2002 Commonwealth Games.

BUCS sport entries continue to grow year on year domestically, and this is supported by a full international programme, where British students can compete for their nation at World University Games and World University Championships, or in a kind of “Champions League” format, their university at European level.

BUCS also hosts a range of professional network and development events around the country each year to support student volunteers serving on club committees. BUCS has 4 voluntary elected student positions filled by student sabbatical officers based at institutions, it also has one full time staff member reserved for a recent graduate to ensure student’s views are kept close to the heart of BUCS vision and strategy.
