Athletic Union

Athletic Union (AU) is the umbrella term for The University of Manchester sports clubs that compete against other Universities across the UK in BUCS leagues and competitions.

The University of Manchester have 89 teams across 36 sports, separated into 42 different clubs with each club having highly qualified head coaches to help you achieve your full potential. Studying a degree can be demanding, playing sport is a great way to relieve stress, meet new people and stay fit and healthy.

British Universities & Colleges Sport (BUCS)

BUCS is the national governing body for University sport in the United Kingdom who’s vision is to give students the best University sport experience in the world.

The University of Manchester’s 42 Athletic Union sports clubs compete against every University in the UK in BUCS leagues & competitions from October to May every year.

Christie Championship

Christie Championship is a tri-university competition between the Universities of Manchester, Leeds and Liverpool. These three universities compete in a multitude of sports and take turns hosting.
